Alaska

With all this talk about Alaska, thought I would join in. Was there from May 1975 till May 1976, serving this great country of ours, watching for Russians, We were close to Russia. Cape Lisburne. Found this video on Youtube. Not bad. Can you pick me out of this lineup? I need to tell some stories.

    WOW! I remember these guys. Aren't you standing next to Cliff (the black guy on the left)? We spent a year together up there. Too strange.

    Are you in this picture Mark? That is Cliff Smith on the left, myself and Ronnie Peppers in the coat. Peppers was heading home that day. I don't remember the other guys names. wish I did. Come out come out, wherever you are!

    No, I'm not in the picture. In fact I was wondering if I took the pic actually, though I doubt it since I browsed through some of my (many) photos after seeing your post of it and didn't see it. Happening upon this pic brought back some cool - literally and figuratively :) memories. In fact, I stayed up til almost 3AM this morning looking at Cape Liz stuff. I need to scan my hundreds of slides and post them for you. I'm sure you'll remember me then as my bald pics of today bear little resemblance to the 21 year old at the Cape. Have you kept in touch with Cliff? How bout 'Bino (was it Dave Sabino)? I have several pics of you and him together.

    Sorry, Bob. I figured you might have looked up my profile on Google. My name is Mark Crawford (and that's fine if you post it here...not that paranoid and besides I'm probably all over the web these days with all these social networking sites I'm on).

    Texas? Wow! My memory is getting bad, but now that you mention it... I seem to remember something like that. I left AK in May of '76 and spent one year at Bergstrom (Austin) before getting out of the AF. And the more I think of it - yea, I think our paths did cross down there. I've got to post some pics (probably on Picasa) and share them out to you.
