Monthly Singleton Mom's Update.

Here's this month's Update. Get In, while you can!
* * *
Things are really moving fast. We are seeing a huge increase in women in need of assistance. We were even able to assist a single 30 year old father of 4 with Thyroid cancer. Due to his location, Florence, we were unable to put him on service. Though, we did make the decision to pay $600.00 of his past due bills. We were called by another mother named Jennifer. She has not made a decision whether to go on service (some moms have such a hard time excepting help) but we were able to pay her electric bill before it got shut off.

This brings Singleton Moms total to 8 moms currently on service. Though for the month of August we assisted 9 moms and 1 dad. New to our on-going service are Nichole and Rita.

Nicole is 27 years old and has a 3 year old daughter. She was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma and is receiving radiation every day for the next 5 weeks. She has good family support and just needs a little extra help with bills.

Rita is 40 years old. She has a 16 year old son and a 9 year old daughter. She has breast cancer and is undergoing an aggressive chemo treatment. She is not able to work full time due to chemo every week and she does not get child support. She has cleaned houses in the past and is looking for more clients. Please let us know if you are interested in having your home cleaned and we will pass your number to her.

Singleton Moms has had to start a waiting list and already has two moms on it. We hope that soon funds will become available to be able to remove them from the waiting list and put them on service.

Many of you have heard numerous updates about Rosa. She and her four children have become very special to Singleton Moms. We were so touched when she sent this message to our My Space; Thanks so much. I hope that Singleton keeps helping mothers out there for a very long time. You guys do an awesome job. When u guys came in to my life I felt a big weight lifted off my shoulders. When I was told that I had cancer again I just wanted to give up. Then I meet you and I saw that you really wanted to be there for me and the kids, so I thought to myself I will give it another shot. I am so grateful that there are people like you out there. It gets hard and lonely sometimes but then you come along and it makes things better. " We are very touched and grateful by her kind words and spirit.
